GLENDALE, Ariz.Panama fell 5-nil to Colombia in the 2024 CONMEBOL Copa America quarterfinals on Saturday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

Jhon Cordoba opened the scoring in the 8' to give Colombia the lead with a header off a corner kick.

James Rodriguez converted from the penalty spot in the 15' to extend the lead for the South Americans following a foul in the box.

Los Canaleros nearly scored in the 18’, but a Roderick Miller header was denied by the right post before being hit out by Colombia goalkeeper Camilo Vargas.

Jovani Welch struck from distance in the 34’ but Vargas captured the attempt.

Luis Diaz scored with a chip over the goalkeeper in the 41' to extend the lead for the CONMEBOL nation.

Richard Montoya struck from outside the box in the 70' to increase the lead for Colombia.

Edgardo Fariña struck in the 80’ to force a save from Vargas as Panama fought to get on the scoreboard.

Miguel Borja struck from the penalty spot in the 90’+4 to increase the Colombia lead to five.

Panama ends its participation in the 2024 Copa America with the result. The nation concludes its best finish in the competition as it bows out in the quarterfinals.
