Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes got caught up in an argument with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo during Argentina’s 4-1 victory over Brazil in World Cup qualification in the early hours of Wednesday morning, reminding his opponent that he has a World Cup and two Copa America titles to his name.
Argentina claimed a 4-1 win over Brazil with goals from Julian Alvarez, Enzo Fernandez, Alexis Mac Allister and Giuliano Simeone in a game that featured several Serie A players, including Como duo Nico Paz and Maxi Perrone, Atalanta’s Ederson and Bologna’s Benja Dominguez.
Paredes and Rodrygo wound up in an argument midway through, with the Brazilian reportedly telling the Roma midfielder that he had not been playing well on the night.
Multiple outlets claim that Paredes responded by saying something along the lines of: “I’ve won a World Cup and two Copa Americas, you zero.”
