FC Barcelona are fighting for every single title possible across the board. Hansi Flick may not have had a busy transfer window neither in the winter nor in the summer, but his objective remains clear. Even with his team, Barcelona are more than determined to fight for everything.
However, just because the German coach did not get to bring in the signings that he would have wanted in an ideal situation, does not mean that he is not willing to push this team to the limit. Even right now, Barcelona remain as competitive as possible across all competitions.
One of the key factors behind that dominance and competitiveness, however, is simply Pedri. The young Spanish midfielder may not be the player grabbing the goals or most of the assists, but he is definitely one of the most vital pieces of this team and runs games by himself at times.
As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, moreover, his involvement does not just give Barcelona good games, but also good results. His most recent match against Valencia was about more than just controlling the tempo of the game, it also showcased his ability to directly influence the goals that the team scores.
Already this season, he has showcased again and again that he has been one of Barça’s most important players. Against Valencia, however, there exists a good example of just how lethal Pedri can be through his direct passes and chance creation as well. In three of the goals scored by the team, he was heavily involved.
First game the second goal scored by Ferran Torres against Valencia, in which the young midfielder created the initial play through a brilliant trivela pass to Raphinha that resulted in the eventual goal. Then, for Fermin Lopez’s goal, it was Pedri who picked out his run and laid out a beautiful assist to him to give Barça a three goal advantage.
Even for the fourth goal, once again scored by Ferran Torres, Pedri’s vision and creativity came in clutch. He saw Raphinha’s run and laid out a scintillating curling pass to him that was then laid off for Torres to grab his third goal of the night and give Barcelona a 4-0 lead at that point.
All in all, with a 92% passing accuracy throughout the game as well, Pedri had yet another masterclass of a performance. Given his consistency this season, especially with his injury woes now behind him, it is hardly even a debate anymore when it comes to the Barcelona midfielder being among the finest players in his position across Europe this season. was a massive priority, and he continues to repay that faith game after game.
