Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has provided an update on the fitness of his squad ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final clash against Bournemouth.

City are out of the Premier League title race after exiting the UEFA Champions League at the Round of 16 stage against Real Madrid in February, the FA Cup is Pep Guardiola’s only chance at winning silverware this term.

The Blues have nine league games left in their bid to finish in the Premier League top four and finish a disappointing season on a high.

After the recent international break, City return to action on Sunday when they face Andoni Iraola and Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium – where they suffered a 2-1 defeat in the Premier League in November.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of the tie, Guardiola has provided an update on the fitness of his squad for a must-win tie in City’s pursuit to win an eighth FA Cup title.

The Spaniard confirmed that Manchester City have no fresh injury concerns after the international break, which is a massive boost for the Blues in their run-in.

“Some (players are) a little more tired because of less recovery, and the other ones are good,” the 54-year-old said on Friday.

Ederson made an error and let in Callum Hudson-Odoi’s near-post goal in a 1-0 defeat away at Nottingham Forest before the international break and was not in goal against Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Brazilian was then missing from City’s matchday squad against Brighton owing to an injury concern, which raised doubts over whether he will recover in time for the run-in.

On Ederson, Guardiola said: “Yes, (he is) good – he trained the last two days,” and when asked if Stefan Ortega Moreno could keep his place in goal after starting against Brighton, he added: “We’ll see tomorrow.”
