Plymouth Argyle are on the verge of being relegated to League One.

The Pilgrims are fighting for their lives at the foot of the Championship, but with time running out, they are faced with the growing prospect of a return to third tier football for next season.

After the appointment of Wayne Rooney didn't work out, Miron Muslic could well be the man to lead Argyle into the future, even if the club is to fall short in their survival bid this season.

Therefore, regardless of what division they are plying their trade in next term, Plymouth look set to undergo a hugely important summer of recruitment.

We asked our Plymouth Argyle fan pundit, Chris: 'What would a dream summer 2025 transfer window look like for Argyle?'

Chris said: "Considering the transfer window is not that far away in the grand scheme of things, there will certainly be a lot of parties working behind the scenes to look at potential acquisitions to bring into the new squad in the summer.

"Whether that be the tempting offer of Championship football, or whether we need to consolidate and consider high-quality League One players.

"When looking at the transfer market currently, there are certainly lots of options available. One area that we need to consider is our strike force.

"This is an area that we've lacked in quality in more recent months, and have had to rely heavily on the services of Ryan Hardie, being one of our top scorers at the moment.

"One priority, I believe, is going to be looking for a dedicated number nine. In all honesty, with the recent performances of Muhamed Tijani, I think because we have the option to buy him from his loan spell from Slavia Prague, he may be a useful acquisition.

"Whether that be as a backup striker in the Championship, or a League One striker as a more prominent figurehead in terms of a target man.

"I also believe considering a stronger midfield would also be on the cards, as at the moment, we have Darko Gyabi who will be returning to back to Leeds United after his loan spell, and we often need some strong central midfielders to help bolster our attacking threat."

Plymouth Argyle will surely be preparing to lose some key players this summer

Regardless of whether it's to be another season in the Championship next term for Plymouth Argyle, or if it's League One football, it's sure to be a summer of change at Home Park.

That's because it's not as if Argyle's squad is devoid of talent or prized possessions; far from it in fact.

Hardie is a centre-forward who's proven himself to be a solid avenue for goals at second tier level, and as such, he will surely not be short of potential suitors in the Championship this summer.

Away from the Scotsman, the likes of Bali Mumba, Adam Randell and Jordan Houghton have all proven themselves at Championship level, whilst club record signing Maksym Talovierov looks to be a very smart defender.

Therefore, Argyle appear set for some significant cash injections this summer, and whilst losing star players is never wished for by any club, Plymouth could raise enough money from player sales to fund a real overhaul of their playing squad for next season.
