Poland manager Czesław Michniewicz is now set to sign a new deal following the team’s progress into the next round of the FIFA World Cup.
While Poland haven’t played too well in the competition so far, they are in the knockout stages despite losing to Argentina. They had picked up a point against Mexico and had beaten Saudi Arabia, thanks to a sublime performance from Wojciech Szczesny.
As per Weszlo, Michniewicz’s contract has automatically been renewed till 2024 as a clause in his current deal stated that an extension will be triggered if the Poles finished in the Round of 16 of the World Cup. This means that he will be the Poland manager till the 2024 Euros.
The 52-year-old Michniewicz has been in-charge of the national team since 2022 itself and he has previously coached the Under-21s side as well, having also been in-charge of Legia Warsaw for a year till 2021.
