MIAMI — The 2024 Concacaf Central American Cup closes its second week of encounters on Thursday, as the 20 best clubs compete to be crowned champions in early December.

A first encounter will open the day’s activities as Port Layola FC hosts CD Olimpia. Runners-up in the previous edition, Real Estelí begins its campaign in the second match of the night.

Port Layola FC vs. CD Olimpia

Port Layola FC meets CD Olimpia at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan, Belize.

The reigning champions of Belize will look to bounce back after losing 4-1 in their Central American Cup debut to Antigua GFC. Rene Leslie scored the lone goal for Port Layola.

Honduran champions CD Olimpia will look to build on a 3-nil home victory over Club Atletico Independiente. Michaell Chirinos, Ignacio Colombini, and José Pinto scored in the team’s opening match.

For CD Olimpia, it will be the 13th match against Belizean rivals, with a record of 12 wins and one draw. The last encounter between Olimpia and a Belizean team was in the 2016-17 Concacaf Champions Cup, on September 29, 2016, a 5-1 victory against Police United FC.

CSD Municipal vs. Real Estelí FC

CSD Municipal faces Real Estelí FC at the Pensativo Stadium in Antigua, Guatemala. The two clubs meet for the first time in the Central American Cup.

Municipal will turn to its first home match of the campaign to attain its first three points. The team fell 1-nil in its first match, away at Managua FC.

Real Estelí will start its journey in the 2024 edition on the road at Municipal. The Nicaraguan made a run to the final in the inaugural tournament but fell to LD Alajeuelense in the finals.
