It was an intense match, full of chances, but the Nerazzurri had no joy: Lazio won on Inter turf through D'Agostini's second-half goal. Inter's pressure wasn't enough to find an equaliser. Inter started well with the first chance: in the 10th minute, De Pieri got down the right wing, he won his duel and he won a corner from a dangerous cross, but it came to nothing. The Nerazzurri pushed and in the 15th minute they got close to getting in front: Maye fired in a long range shot, but the goalkeeper waited and saved well. Half way through the first period, we had another chance: Bovo tried a strike from over 20 yards out, but his effort was too high. Zanchetta's boys kept probing hard, but they just couldn't find the way to goal. In the 41st minute Topalovic tried his luck from just outside the centre of the box, and in the 43rd minute De Pieri came closs again with a left-footed shot: Renzetti blocked again and saved his team.
After the break, Inter got back underway with the same attitude: in the 52nd minute, Pinotti fired his shot over the bar after he found himself in a but of space. The Nerazzurri pressing, however, was not enough to keep our opposition at bay: in the 62nd minute Lazio took the lead. Their corner was initially defended by Milani, but the ball stayed in the area and D'Agostini fired home from close range, making it 0-1. The Nerazzurri reacted and in the 70th minute, they created a good chance: Cocchi found Spinaccè from the left, but his left-footed strike was too central. In the 74th minute, Lazio were dangerous once again through D'Agostini, who threatened a brace with a header from close range, but it just went over. In the 82nd minute, the Nerazzurri had their last real chance: Cocchi delivered a free-kick into the box from the left, it found Maye but his header was just deflected over the bar. Inter pushed right until the end, but Lazio kept their clean sheet.
Goals: 62' D'Agostini (L).
