Paris Saint-Germain retain an interest in Lille OSC goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier (23), L’Équipe understands. The news comes after fresh doubt was cast on the future of Gianluigi Donnarumma (26).
Donnarumma’s current deal at PSG expires at the end of next season. Get French Football News reported in early May that there was optimism regarding an extension to that deal. The ball has been in the players’ camp, with a set of criteria that apply to all players who sign extensions with Les Parisiens, to be accepted by Donnarumma if the deal is to be signed.
However, the Italian is yet to put pen to paper, and after PSG’s UEFA Champions League win over Inter Milan, he cast doubt over his future. “We’ll see in the next few days,” he told Sky Italia. His comments have been perceived as a means of applying pressure in order to get the deal that he wants. His future will be quickly resolved, one way or another, L’Équipe understands. However, amid the uncertainty surrounding his future, there is still an interest in Chevalier, who is also coveted by Aston Villa.
