According to Eindhovens Dagblad, Jerdy Schouten has emerged as one of PSG’s top transfer targets this summer as the French champions look to strengthen in midfield. The 27-year-old PSV Eindhoven player was a standout star for the Netherlands during their Euro 2024 campaign and proved to be one of the best midfielders in the Eredivisie last season. With current PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte heading for the exit door, Jerdy Schouten could be the perfect replacement.

PSV won’t want to lose one of their star players. Schouten featured 29 times last season as Peter Bosz’s side lifted the Eredivisie title. The defensive-midfielder also netted four goals in the league. PSV signed the player from Bologna last summer, paying around €15m for the Den Haag academy graduate. That quickly proved to be a brilliant bit of business from the club as he played a pivitol part in their domination of the top flight.

PSG have other candidates on their shortlist, but Jerdy Schouten is considered a top target. The French giants are reportedly set to sign Benfica star João Neves this week, but with Xavi Simons set for a return to Leipzig and Manuel Ugare heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, Schouten could be approached before the transfer window closes.
