Inter Milan
·30 May 2025
The final will be PSG vs. Inter. The Nerazzurri now know their opponents for the UEFA Champions League final, where they’ll meet a team they’ve never faced in an official match before. The game will kick off at 21:00 CEST on Saturday 31 May in Munich.
Inter progressed to the final after overcoming Barcelona over to legs: after the 3-3 draw in Catalonia, there was the legendary 4-3 victory at San Siro. It will be the Nerazzurri’s seventh UEFA Champions League final in their history (three triumphs). Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile, overcame Arsenal in the semi-finals after winning 1-0 in London and 2-1 in Paris (goals from Fabian Ruiz and Hakimi). It will be the French side’s second-ever final in Europe’s premier competition after their defeat to Bayern Munich in 2020.
The Champions League final returns to Munich for the first time since 2012, when Chelsea won the trophy on penalties against Bayern.
For the final in Munich, Inter will be the designated away team. This stems from the UEFA draw held in previous months, which determined the entire bracket all the way to the final.
There are a total of nine Nerazzurri scorers in this Champions League: leading the group is captain Lautaro with 9 goals, making him the all-time leading scorer in Inter's history in Europe's top competition. Behind him are Thuram and Calhanoglu with 4, while Frattesi and Dumfries have scored two each, all of them heavyweights. Also decisive were the only goals by Acerbi and Pavard, who were joined by Arnautovic and Taremi.
Inter and PSG will face off in the Champions League final, and it will be the first official match between the two clubs. Indeed, the Nerazzurri and Parisians have met six times before, but always in summer tournaments or friendlies.
PSG returns to play in the UEFA Champions League final five years after losing to Bayern Munich while the coach, Luis Enrique, won the trophy in 2014/15, in his first season in charge of Barcelona. The French side's most adopted form is the 4-3-3 with a variable trident that has Dembelé as its best weapon in terms of goals with 33 goals scored so far thanks also to the support of Kvaratskhelia, Doué and Barcola and the boost of Hakimi and Mendes. Luis Enrique has found his ideal regista in Vitinha who, thanks to a mix of technique, game vision and dribbling, manages the team's rhythms. The Spanish coach prefers building from the bottom, starting with Donnarumma himself and exploiting the movements of central Marquinhos and Pacho who very often are the first to lift the team with the Ecuadorian being the most used man this season with 4,013' on the field.

Completed on 30 April 2005, the Munich Football Arena is located on Werner-Heisenberg-Allee and is owned by Bayern München. It hosted four matches during UEFA EURO 2020 and, having also been a venue for UEFA EURO 2024, it became the first stadium in history to host matches in two consecutive editions of the UEFA European Championship. Its capacity for that tournament was 66,000 seats.
If the score is level at the end of regular time, two 15-minute periods of extra time will be played. If the score remains level after extra time, the winner will be decided by a penalty shootout.

At 21:00 CEST on Saturday 31 May, Inter will face Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League. The UEFA Referees Committee has appointed Romania's István Kovács to referee the match, which will take place at the Munich Football Arena, Germany, on Saturday 31 May.
The 40-year-old, an international referee since 2010, will be officiating his third UEFA club competition final after his appointment as the referee for the 2024 UEFA Europa League final in Dublin, Republic of Ireland, between Atalanta and Leverkusen, and the 2022 UEFA Conference League final between Roma and Feyenoord in Tirana, Albania. He has refereed seven Champions League matches this season, including the round of 16 second leg between Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.

Inter have already had the same refereeing trio - Kovács with assistants Marica and Tunyogi - in the Champions League this season, specifically in their match against Arsenal on 6 November 2024 (decided by Hakan Calhanoglu's goal). Before this, Kovács also took charge of Inter 1-0 Atletico Madrid on 20 February 2024 (Champions League round of 16 first leg, Arnautovic with the winner) and Shakhtar Donetsk 0-0 Inter on 28 September 2021.
The Champions League final, which will see Inter face PSG, will kick off at 21:00 CEST on Saturday 31 May. In Italy, the match will be broadcast exclusively on Sky and NOW and will also be available for streaming on Sky Go and NOW TV.
The match will also be broadcast free-to-air, in accordance with AgCom regulations, which state that if an Italian team is involved in the Champions League final, the game must be broadcast on free-to-air TV as it is considered an event of national interest.
The Champions League Final is back in Munich for the first time since 2012, when Chelsea defeated Bayern on penalties. This will be the second European Cup/UEFA Champions League final between an Italian and French team, following Marseille's 1-0 win in 1993, the only occasion in which a French side have won the trophy (the final was played in Munich). The only time that Inter have faced a French side in the UEFA Champions League, after the group stages was in the Round of 16 against Marseille in the 2011/12 season.
