According to Code Sports, the Hoops have made a bid to sign the forward as part of their January transfer plans.

Waddingham has made 11 appearances so far in this A-League season, scoring four times for the team currently bottom of the table.

The 19-year-old broke into the first team squad in the previous campaign, contributing seven goals and one assist from 23 appearances in the Australian top flight.

QPR have made an offer to sign Waddingham from the struggling A-League team.

Manager Ruben Zadkovich has blamed financial issues for part of why his side has performed so poorly so far this term, with the Roar being the only side in the division left yet to win a game.

This could open the door for Waddingham to make a move to the Championship, having been linked with a transfer to Stoke City in the summer that failed to materialise.

It has been claimed that Sheffield Wednesday and Portsmouth are also interested in the youngster, although it remains unclear if an offer has been submitted.

Despite the Roar’s difficult start to the campaign, Waddingham has still managed to impress with his performances, and is the team’s top scorer.

QPR have enjoyed a positive run of form in recent weeks, which has seen them move to within eight points of a play-off place.

QPR league position

QPR have moved up to 13th in the table, eight adrift of West Brom in sixth after 26 games played each.

Martí Cifuentes’ side have won five of their last eight in the league, lifting them nine points clear of the relegation zone.

The gap between the London club and Sheffield Wednesday is now just five points, with Danny Rohl’s side in 10th.

Meanwhile, Portsmouth have moved out of the relegation zone to start 2025, sitting 21st in the table.

Waddingham signing has potential

Waddingham has performed well in the A-League so far, moving up to senior football quite seamlessly.

The jump up to the Championship will be a challenge but, given he is still only 19, he has time on his side to settle into life in English football, should a move come to fruition.

QPR should be targeting another forward, and someone of Waddingham’s profile could prove quite an exciting addition to Cifuentes’ team.
