Randal Kolo Muani (25) has reached a point of no return, L’Équipe understands. The France international has failed to live up to the €90m price tag since making the move from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023. Paris Saint-Germain are now, for the first time, prepared to cut their losses.
Kolo Muani had a difficult first season at PSG, however, there was an expectation that the current campaign would mark a return to form. Whilst the former FC Nantes man continues to perform for the France national team, he continues to struggle at PSG, and despite Luis Enrique’s public defence of the forward, his actions display a lack of trust.
Kolo Muani has started just two games all season, and in one of them, against OGC Nice, he was hooked at half-time. Left on the bench in Sunday’s Le Classique victory over Olympique de Marseille, Luis Enrique’s decision to start Ousmane Dembélé in the No.9 position spoke volumes. Even without the injured Gonçalo Ramos to contend with, RKM can’t get a look in.
Talks have taken place with the France international’s entourage and PSG may now be willing to sanction a move. According to L’Équipe, Kolo Muani is valued between €40-50m. Borussia Dortmund and Juventus both showed interest in the summer, however, the price tag was prohibitive.
L’Équipe hypothesises that, depending on the managerial appointment at Manchester United, the Red Devils could be tempted into a move this summer, as could Arsenal.
