A big Rangers update has emerged regarding interest in Ibrox outcast Jack Simpson ahead of the next transfer window…
According to Football Insider, the defender is being eyed up for a summer move away from Glasgow after a difficult spell with the club.
He was touted with an exit from the Scottish giants in the January transfer window but nothing ever materialised, and he is currently wasting away as an outcast at Rangers.
The report claimed that English Championship side Birmingham are now looking to snap him up at the end of the season after Simpson held talks with the Gers to agree that he will be on his way out later this year.

Gio van Bronckhorst must now ruthlessly sell Simpson to Birmingham and sanction a permanent exit to put his Ibrox nightmare to an end.
The defender has been a flop for the club since his move from Bournemouth in January 2021 and it is time to part ways with him. He struggled on the pitch when given an opportunity by Steven Gerrard and has rarely been used by Van Bronckhorst this term, which suggests that the 47-year-old does not trust the centre-back to put in a good performance.
Simpson has not played a single match in the Premiership or Europa League since the Dutchman took the job and averaged an underwhelming SofaScore rating of 6.62 in the league last term for Gerrard.
Former Scotland international Frank McAvennie previously pointed the defender out as a liability for the Gers, saying: “Hibs are on fire and they really know what they are doing. They will fancy their chances. They know Simpson is the weak link. You expect he will start with the Goldson issue.
“He’s not had a great time of it so far, he barely played last season. We’ll see what happens but I expect Boyle will run rings around him.”

These comments and Simpson’s lack of game-time under Van Bronckhorst highlight his nightmare situation at Ibrox. He is wasting his career away by sitting in the reserves at the club, and that is why he must be ruthlessly sold to Birmingham in the summer.
It is time for Ross Wilson to get the 25-year-old’s £3.1k-per-week wages off the books – as it stands, the centre-back has been a waste of money each month with his lack of game-time. He has not been contributing on the pitch and that is why he must be sent back down south.
