Rangers will not be bringing in former Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel, according to journalist Jonny McFarlane.
Van Ginkel, 31, is currently without a club after leaving Dutch side Vitesse.
The midfielder was rated as a huge talent when Chelsea snapped him up in 2013 for a fee of £8m, but he was plagued by serious injuries.
Loans at AC Milan, Stoke City and PSV Eindhoven were embarked upon in a bid to get his career back on track, before a permanent move to the Phillips Stadion.
He joined Vitesse, his boyhood and first club, last year and made 30 appearances in the Eredivisie last term, scoring seven times.
Van Ginkel, who can play in central midfield, as an attacking midfielder or as a forward, has been linked with a possible move to Rangers.
He would not cost the Gers a fee as a free agent.
Rangers though will not be signing the Dutch midfielder.
Van Ginkel has been capped eight times for the Netherland and may present an attractive proposition for some clubs this summer.
