Claudio Ranieri is preparing a heavily rotated starting formation for tonight’s match against Empoli.
After the victory against Athletic Bilbao, the Giallorossi coach is ready to change eight players to manage the energy in view of the return to San Mamés.
Some forfeits are mandatory: Mancini is suspended, Celik has suffered a new muscular injury and Dybala will observe a rest day.
Despite the rotations, the team will maintain balance and quality. In midfield, Saelemaekers, Paredes and Koné should be confirmed both today and in Europe, while in defense Hummels is expected to be back on the pitch.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Pellegrini is also set to return from the first minute to lead the team, while in attack Shomurodov is favored over Dovbyk after the decisive goal against Bilbao.
On the left wing, Angeliño could rest, leaving room for Salah-Eddine, who has been little used so far.
In defense, Devyne Rensch, protagonist in the last matches, could be deployed as a full-back in a four-man defense or as a full-back in a more offensive module.
