The season is already over for Rangers, having failed to achieve anything both at home and in Europe. Moreover, Celtic’s win against Dundee United earlier this afternoon made their trip to Paisley further irrelevant. A win against St Mirren would have boosted their confidence ahead of next weekend’s Old Firm clash, yet the Gers delivered another lacklustre performance as they settled for a 2-2 draw despite leading twice.

Below are the Rangers players rated in their 2-2 draw against St Mirren.

Made a crucial save to deny Roland Idowu from close range before the other substitute, Conor McMenamin, found the net midway through the second half. A collective defensive lapse resulted in Mark O’Hara’s first-half equaliser.

John Souttar: 6

Failed to deal with the initial threat during O’Hara’s goal. Looked nervy against the Buddies’ direct play and set-piece threats. Dominated the duels and made several no-nonsense clearances.

Robin Propper: 6.5

Made some timely tackles and recoveries in the heart of the backline. Did his best to play it out from the back, but he struggled aerially against Mikael Mandron in the St Mirren attack.

Clinton Nsiala: 5.5

His positioning and game awareness need to improve while performing his defensive duties in the three-man backline. Besides a few blocks and clearances, the young centre-half looked out of depth before making way for Nedim Bajrami late into the contest.

James Tavernier: 6

His lack of composure at the back led to frailties in deep defence. His crosses and long balls were not accurate enough, even though the skipper tried his best to make an impact in attack.

Nicolas Raskin: 8.5

Excellent once again as he set it up for Cyriel Dessers late in the first half. Also, restored their lead for the second time with a composed strike from the edge of the box.

Bailey Rice: 7.5

Combated well in the middle of the park as the 18-year-old academy prodigy did his best to make a difference with his down-the-middle runs and box-to-box movements. Made way for Connor Barron for the final few minutes of the game.

Jefte: 6.5

The Brazilian balanced his game between defence and attack while featuring as a left wingback. Could not offer much in and around the attacking third.

Mohamed Diomande: 8

Offered his creative spark as a ‘number 10’. Laid it on for Raskin’s early second-half goal. Showed his intent and aggression by regaining possession and carrying the ball forward.

Hamza Igamane: 6

Failed with his dribbling attempts. Could not cause enough menace in the St Mirren defence. Lacked the vision to dominate the half spaces.

Cyriel Dessers: 7.5

Wasted a scoring opportunity early on but found the net at the backend of the first half, minutes before O’Hara’s equaliser. Was replaced by Vaclav Cerny midway through the second half.
