Some breaking news coming out of Scottish football today took us all by surprise regarding one of our former star players Victor Wanyama, who looks set for a return to Scottish football by teaming up with former manager Neil Lennon at Dunfermline.

The 33 year old powerhouse Kenyan midfielder has apparently agreed a short term to help his former boss help the Pars in their aim to beat the dreaded drop from the Championship.

Wanyama made 91 appearances for the hoops scoring 13 goals, his most memorable being the one in the 2-1 victory over Barcelona in 2012. He helped the club win two league titles and a Scottish Cup in his two years at the club before moving to Southampton in the EPL, then winning a move to Spurs. He played in a Champions League final while at Tottenham, quite a pedigree for the second tier of Scottish football.

Wanyama spent the last four years in the MLS with CF Montreal before leaving when his contract expired in January, and now looks set to swap Canada for Fife in his next career destination.

Despite the injury concerns that have blighted his career this will represent a huge coup for the Pars and Neil Lennon. Best of luck to both Victor and Lenny.
