La Liga outfit Real Betis have this week been dealt a fresh blow on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that Youssouf Sabaly is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.
Defender Sabaly was for his part in from the off once more on Thursday, as Real Betis made the trip to Madrid for a La Liga meeting with Rayo Vallecano.
En route to an eventual 2-2 stalemate, however, the Senegalese was forced into a premature departure from proceedings, with just 25 minutes on the clock.
And as alluded to above, 24 hours on, an insight into the reasoning for as much has been provided.
As per a statement across Real Betis’ website and social media platforms:
‘Youssouf Sabaly was forced to leave the pitch following a challenge during the match against Rayo Vallecano.
‘After undergoing tests carried out by the Club’s medical staff, no bone injury has been detected in his left clavicle. However, it has been confirmed that the player is suffering from a sprain in his left acromioclavicular joint.
‘His return to group training will depend on how he responds to conservative treatment.’
As per Mundo Deportivo, whilst Sabaly is unlikely to play his part in either of Betis’ final two La Liga fixtures of the campaign, the right-back has not been ruled out of the UEFA Conference League final, when Manuel Pellegrini’s troops will lock horns with Chelsea later this month.
