Real Madrid striker Alvaro Rodriguez at one point looked primed for a role in the first team after scoring an invaluable equaliser against Atletico Madrid in La Liga. However 18 months on, he set to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.

The giant 20-year-old target man still spent most of his time since at Real Madrid Castilla, where he was top scorer, but a long way from prolific with 10 goals. As per Relevo, Getafe are the favourites for Rodriguez, while Alaves and Espanyol have also shown interest.

Other options in mind are Randy Nteka at Rayo Vallecano, and Mohamed Samba at Lorient. The 22-year-old scored 9 goals in 18 games for Wolfsberger in Austria, before a €5m move to Ligue 2 last season. In his 16 appearances for Lorient, he had 8 goals and 3 assists.

Real Madrid’s demands could be an obstacle for Getafe though, who are tight up against their salary limit this summer. MD say Los Blancos want a minimum of €5m, but could demand as much as €11m. They also want a 50% sell-on clause for Rodriguez. RB Leipzig and Wolfsburg are also credited with interest.

Getafe still have Borja Mayoral amongst their ranks, with nobody having met their demands for him. Mayoral was likely a sale they had planned for though, and one that was likely to bring in plenty of money. Real Sociedad and Villarreal look as if they have cooled their interest in Getafe’s top scorer last season though.
