Real Madrid’s upcoming match against Deportiva Minera in the Copa del Rey represents more than just another chance for Endrick to get a starting spot.
This is because it has become a crucial moment for his future at the club. Endrick’s first season has not gone as he hoped, as with only 160 minutes of play so far, his time on the pitch has been limited, and the pressure is mounting.
The situation for the young Brazilian has been challenging. After the excitement of his brilliant goal against Stuttgart in the UEFA Champions League, things have been far from smooth.
Ancelotti left him out for five consecutive matches, not giving him a single minute of play. When asked if Endrick would start against Deportiva Minera, Ancelotti gave an ambiguous response, saying “maybe.”
If the 18-year-old forward does not get a start in this match, his future at Real Madrid could be in serious doubt.

The Copa del Rey is likely Endrick’s best chance to turn things around. With Deportiva Minera being a team from the Segunda RFEF, it could be seen as a relatively easy match where the young striker should show his potential.
A strong performance is needed if he is to gain any trust from Ancelotti and prove that he deserves more playing time. However, if he fails to impress and Real Madrid advance, his chances of making it into the next round could be slim.
At the moment, there are no talks about a six-month loan for Endrick. This is because Real Madrid’s squad, although strong in attack, is not overflowing with players, especially with Vinicius Jr. facing a suspension.
This creates an opening for Endrick, and the upcoming match could be his only chance to close the gap between him and players like Brahim Diaz and Arda Guler in the attacking rotation.
