La Liga giants Real Madrid have been afforded something of a boost in their ongoing pursuit of Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies.

That’s according to Diario AS, who have on Tuesday provided a fresh insight into the situation.

The name of defender Davies has of course long dominated the headlines in not only Germany, but Spain, too.

This comes amid the widespread knowledge that the gifted left-back has made his way firmly onto the transfer wishlist of La Liga champions Real Madrid.

After it was initially considered something of a formality that Davies would ultimately make his way to the Santiago Bernabéu upon the expiration of his contract in the summer, recent weeks had seen contrasting claims begin to spread in the media.

Some outlets in Germany, in fact, went as far as to suggest that the Canadian international was on the verge of agreeing to the terms of a renewal.

Safe to say, then, that all of a Real Madrid persuasion will no doubt be interested to hear of a fresh twist in the saga.

As per a report from AS:

‘The latest offer launched by Bayern Munich does not satisfy the full-back’s demands. The Canadian’s future is now considered more open than ever.’

Real Madrid, in turn, remain waiting in the background, ready to pounce should Davies give any indication of a desire to take his talents to La Liga.
