Real Madrid make contact over deal for in-demand Lens star | OneFootball

The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid have made first contacts over a potential deal for a member of the defensive ranks at RC Lens.

That’s according to French transfer insider Santi Aouna, who points towards Abdukodir Khusanov as the player in question.

It is of course common knowledge in Spain that Real Madrid are on the lookout for long-term reinforcements at the heart of the club’s backline.

As much comes after Los Blancos came up short in efforts to bring in Leny Yoro over the summer.

And, after links with a whole host of up-and-coming talents from across Europe and beyond, it is the aforementioned Khusanov whose name appears to have emerged as the new priority for Florentino Pérez and co.

Khusanov, for his part, is a 20-year-old stopper, who has enjoyed something of a breakout campaign to date on the books of Ligue 1 outfit Lens.

So much so that, according to Santi Aouna:

‘Real Madrid are very interested in Abdukodir Khusanov. Contacts have already taken place.’

Joining the Spanish champions in the race for the Uzbek international, meanwhile, are Premier League pair Manchester City and Newcastle United.
