The name of Dean Huijsen has been heavily linked with Real Madrid in recent weeks, with the teenage Spanish defender emerging as a leading target to reinforce the Merengues’ defence.
The 19-year-old is enjoying his breakthrough season with AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League and even made his debut for the Spanish national team earlier this month.
Now, according to MARCA, while Real Madrid’s technical staff was already familiar with Huijsen’s abilities, his latest displays for Spain have also left club officials highly impressed.
Real Madrid have been tracking Huijsen long before his national team breakthrough. Scouting reports from his spell at Bournemouth already highlighted him as a special talent. But his explosion on the international stage has confirmed his potential.
As such, Los Blancos are set to position themselves to try and sign the centre-back in the summer.

With the centre-back position somewhat uncertain at Real Madrid – Eder Militao is returning from a second ACL injury, David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger’s contract expire in 2026 – Huijsen’s profile is seen as an ideal long-term solution.
Additionally, the signals coming from Huijsen himself suggest that playing for Real Madrid would be his dream – a detail that has not gone unnoticed at Valdebebas.
However, they are unlikely to be the only club vying for the former Juventus starlet’s acquisition. The Merengues, though, are keen not to fall behind in the race for a player with at least 15 years of top-level football ahead of him.
As the summer approaches, the race to secure the signature of one of football’s brightest defensive talents is underway. And Real Madrid are determined not to miss out.
