Real Madrid’ constant pursuit of Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies indicates an internal sense of dissatisfaction over the personnel at left-back.
Despite Fran Garcia and Ferland Mendy providing good defensive cover, Los Blancos are looking for options with more attacking output and see the Canadian international to be the best fit.
Davies’ future, however, has grown uncertain in recent weeks and it is no longer clear if he will push to leave on a free transfer next summer. A local homegrown option, thus, is growing in stature as relayed by Fichajes.
As relayed by the outlet, Miguel Gutierrez’s great season at Girona has not gone unnoticed and he has caught the eye of the Real Madrid hierarchy as an option.

Despite his name being virtually ruled out a few weeks ago, the youngster’s continual growth has only made his stocks bullish.
As a homegrown option, Gutierrez knows his way around the Real Madrid style and is familiar with the pressure that comes with the crest and is eager to take the next step in his career.
Not only is the 23-year-old a reliable option in defence but he also ensures good attacking output with measures balance and is thus seen as a viable alternative for Davies.
So far this season, he has started 17 league games for Girona and has played 90 minutes on all occasions. In that duration, he has scored one goal, provided four assists and averages 1.6 key passes per game.
His future will largely depend on how the situation of Davies evolves, but it will be interesting to see whom he replaces in the squad if he eventually arrives.
