Real Madrid could be quietly positioning themselves to swoop in for a PSG target who’s also drawing interest from Manchester City and Manchester United.

Paris Saint-Germain are closely monitoring River Plate’s Franco Mastantuono ahead of the summer transfer window. According to TyC Sports journalist Germán García Grova, PSG have already opened talks and consider Mastantuono a top priority. The French giants now join a growing list of clubs tracking the highly rated Argentine.

Transfer insider César Luis Merlo previously reported that Manchester United have shown the most serious interest so far, even scouting the PSG target in person. The Premier League side is also well aware of his €45 million release clause, which could be a key factor in how the race to sign him plays out.

Real Madrid ready to swoop in on PSG transfer target

TyC Sports reports that Real Madrid and Franco Mastantuono have made contact. The player’s agent was in Madrid to discuss the move with a Real Madrid representative.

PSG have entered the race for Mastantuono, joining Real Madrid, Manchester United, and several other top European clubs, according to Diario Olé.

The report adds that six Premier League teams are showing interest, including new champions Liverpool, as well as Arsenal and Chelsea. Mastantuono is under contract with River Plate through December 2027 and has a €45 million release clause. He has yet to make a decision on his next move.

Meanwhile, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Manchester City are currently leading the chase for the 16-year-old, though PSG are still seen as strong contenders.
