An insight into just how impressed those behind the scenes at La Liga giants Real Madrid have been with the recent performances of Federico Valverde has on Friday been provided.

This, of course, comes with the Uruguayan having been forced into a new role over recent weeks.

Amid an injury crisis at right-back in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, Valverde was tasked with filling in across a number of high-profile recent fixtures.

The latest came on Tuesday, when the 26-year-old took hia place at the back in the Madrid Derby.

And to say that Valverde went on to impress would be something of an understatement, the South American having barely put a foot wrong all evening amid a brilliant display on both sides of the ball.

And the significance of as much, it would appear, has not been at all lost on those behind the scenes in the Spanish capital.

As per a report from Relevo, in fact:

“Valverde is the best right-back in the world.” The phrase, from the last few days, does not come from the fans or the press, but from the departments that know the most about football within Real Madrid.’
