Real Madrid star has been playing through injury ‘for months’ | OneFootball

A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has long been playing through the pain to aid Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Antonio Rüdiger as the player in question.

Stopper Rüdiger has of course continued to play an altogether prominent role for Real Madrid over the course of the season to date.

In fact, the German international is the third most used player in Los Blancos’ squad.

And yet, for some time now, Rüdiger’s efforts have been hampered by what is labelled as ‘serious pain’ when on the pitch.

As per a report from Relevo:

‘The center-back has been playing for months with serious problems in his left knee. The German has been suffering from meniscus discomfort which has become more painful in recent matches due to the accumulation of exertion.’

So troublesome has the issue become, in fact, that surgical intervention is now being taken into serious consideration by club and player alike.
