Arda Guler was one of the key absentees in Real Madrid’s starting eleven in their recent win over Valencia, even as the club secured a narrow 2-1 victory.
The Turkish international did not play a single minute despite warming up on the sidelines at the Mestalla.
Earlier today, Guler was feeling physically unwell and was suffering from flu-like symptoms. He also had difficulty breathing normally.
Real Madrid, therefore, made the decision of not having train with the rest of the squad today.
In light of Guler’s absence from training, AS has offered a fresh update on the Turkish international.

The report confirms that Guler did not participate in training the day after the Valencia win.
But it appears Guler has not been ruled out of the upcoming Copa el Rey clash against Deportivo Minera on Monday.
Carlo Ancelotti, for his part, has already reserved a place for him in the starting eleven. He might want to deploy the former Fenerbahce in the middle of the park.
This is, however, provided that the flu subsides by Monday and that it doesn’t prevent him featuring against Deportivo Minera.
Real Madrid’s push to feature Guler in the Copa Del Rey comes on the back of a gruelling January schedule, where the team could play up to ten matches in 28 days.
The report adds that Guler is expected to play a bigger role for Real Madrid in the second half of the season.
The young playmaker has already featured in 20 competitive matches and the number is expected to increase further as the season progresses.
