Real Madrid have activated Dean Huijsen's release clause and are at an advanced stage in finalising the deal to sign Bournemouth's young defender.
That's according to a story from David Ornstein on Thursday which claims that Los Blancos have triggered his £50m and are in talks about personal terms with the 20-year-old.
Huijsen has been a revelation for the south coast club since joining last summer from Juventus.
The rangy defender has been linked with moves to Chelsea and Liverpool over the past few weeks but it seems as if Xabi Alonso's side have captured their man ahead of a summer switch.
Real Madrid are reportedly confident of getting the deal done this week and will land Huijsen before the Club World Cup starts in one month's time.
Huijsen looks set to join Trent Alexander-Arnold in the Spanish side's defence as they look to bounce back after a disappointing season this time around.
