After some worrying scenes during injury time between Lyon and Strasbourg last night as Strasbourg midfielder Dimitri Liénard collapsed on the pitch and was stretchered off after lengthy treatment, L‘Équipe provided a reassuring update.

“He joined us in the locker room and just told us he felt a little uneasy,” explained coach Julien Stéphan post match. “He did some tests and he was fine.”

Having suffered a sore throat in the build up to the game, the 33-year-old Liénard only made the bench at Parc OL. “We are going to make a very clear and precise diagnosis to determine what happened.” said Stéphan. “He was immediately taken care of by competent people… He’s recovering slowly, but he is recovering.”
