Stade de Reims will look to become only the fourth Ligue 1 side in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France as they close out the Round of 16 with a tie away to N3 side Bourgoin-Jallieu on Thursday night.
There have been plenty of scalps in this season’s Coupe de France with OGC Nice and Toulouse FC the latest clubs to drop out of the competition against lower-tier opposition. Reims will be looking to avoid a similar fate. They take on Bourgoin-Jallieu with Samba Diawara taking charge of Les Stadistes for the first time this season.
He has been placed in interim charge, perhaps until the end of the season, following Luka Elsner’s sacking earlier this week. Diawara also took interim charge right at the end of last season when Will Still made a hasty departure. He will not be able to call on Joseph Okumu, suspended for the tie.
