Chelsea have approached Aston Villa over the potential signing of Ollie Watkins this summer according to reports.
The Blues are once again set for a busy summer and could look to fund their business by selling as many as seven or eight players.
Chelsea face a critical window with the club looking to sign a striker, centre back and right footed attacker to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad.
A striker is the main priority with the Blues paying the price for not signing an alternative to Nicolas Jackson last summer or in January.
Chelsea have been strongly linked with Liam Delap, who’s said to want as much as £150,000 per week, whilst Bundesliga duo Benjamin Sesko and Hugo Ekitike are also said to be on their shortlist.

However, it seems the Blues have identified another name with Football Transfers reporting Chelsea are interested in Watkins.
The report states Chelsea have approached Villa over the potential signing of Watkins if a move for Victor Osimhen falls through.
Football Transfers add Chelsea are willing to pay Villa’s £60m asking price, whilst Arsenal made an approach in January.
Watkins, who’s lost his place in the side to Marcus Rashford in recent weeks has scored 16 goals and registered 13 assists in 50 appearances in all competitions.
Osimhen has a release clause of around £65m and supporters would love the club to sign the Nigerian, but it appears unlikely.
John Obi Mikel has claimed the Nigeria international wants to play for the Blues, but it’s expected his most likely destination will be Saudi Arabia.

Osimhen has been in brilliant form for Galatasaray this season with 31 goals in 36 appearances in all competitions.
The 26-year-old and Viktor Gyokeres are the standout strikers on the market this summer, and if the Blues could land either one it would be a big statement of intent.
