Chelsea have agreed a deal with Ipswich for Liam Delap, and could look to sign another striker, whilst they are looking for a centre back and right footed attacker to further bolster Enzo Maresca’s squad.

Chelsea would want at least €60m for Santos

Whilst incomings are important it’s also vital Chelsea keep hold of as many of their talented youngsters as possible, with some attracting interest from Europe’s top clubs.

Santos falls into that category and the Brazilian has thrived on loan at Strasbourg this season, and is expected to be handed a key role in Maresca’s squad.

Carlo Ancelotti has called Santos up to the Brazil squad and he could be handed his international debut by the former Chelsea boss.

Todd Boehly has spoken of his excitement of seeing Santos in action for Chelsea, but Spanish publication AS have reported the midfielder does have a price.

The report states that whilst Chelsea haven’t considered Santos’ departure and have informed interested clubs, everyone has their price and that price is at least €60m.

Santos joined Chelsea from Brazilian club Vasco da Gama for around £13m in January 2023, but is yet to make his debut for the club.

Essugo to further bolster Chelsea’s midfield

Midfield is arguably Chelsea’s strongest area of the squad with the likes of Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia and Enzo Fernandez.

Santos will further bolster that, but the Blues also have Dario Essugo arriving in the summer after agreeing a deal with Sporting Lisbon in March.

Essugo is set to provide much needed cover for Caicedo, and like Santos is in line to make his debut at the Club World Cup next month.
