RC Lens defender and former Roma transfer target Kevin Danso reportedly requires a minor procedure to be carried out on his heart after failing a medical ahead of a move to the Giallorossi earlier this summer.
The Austria international had flown over to the Italian capital to complete a medical ahead of a €25m move to Roma at the end of August, but there were concerns around the cardiac element of his medical exams, which led to the transfer falling through at the last minute.
According to Austrian paper Kronen Zeitung, Danso has attended consultations with specialists from Italy, Switzerland, Austria and France, overseen by the Austrian FA. The issue was that the doctors could not agree on one specific diagnosis.
Eventually, the defender went to see the ‘top’ cardiologist from the Premier League, who had the final say on the diagnosis.
According to the latest update, Danso has minor, harmless scarring on his heart, which requires a small procedure to be carried out, which is likely to occur at some stage next week.
Kronen Zeitung suggest that he could be back to full fitness in time for Austria’s upcoming Nations League fixtures in mid-October.
