Unsettled midfielder Davide Frattesi is reportedly desperate to leave Inter Milan this winter and return to his boyhood club, Roma.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the 25-year-old is trying to force his way out.
However, the reigning Serie A champions are reluctant to let their fringe star leave Giuseppe Meazza in January.
Indeed, Inter would only consider selling Frattesi for a €45 million offer.
With Roma unwilling to dash out that kind of money this winter, the former Sassuolo ace would likely stay put until July.
Frattesi graduated from the Roma academy before joining Sassuolo in 2017.
Therefore, he’s enthusiastic about returning to the Stadio Olimpico now that he has no place in Simone Inzaghi’s starting XI.
Meanwhile, Claudio Ranieri would welcome the Inter misfit with open arms as the Giallorossi stutter in Serie A mid-table.
Furthermore, Lorenzo Pellegrini could soon leave the club, with Frattesi widely expected to fill the vacancy.
But Roma will likely have to wait until the summer to lure the Italian star back to the capital.
Frattesi’s exit would probably see Inter intensify their pursuit of Como’s Nico Paz or AC Milan-linked Samuele Ricci.
