Cold water has been thrown on the recent rumours of a winter move to West Ham for América midfielder Pedro Aquino.
Speculation has increased in recent days about the possibility of the Peru international joining the Hammers after the Apertura concludes.
However, ESPN MX’s César Caballero has reported that Aquino’s camp insists the 26-year-old is fully focused on the upcoming Liguilla.
Caballero posted on Twitter: “People close to Pedro Aquino’s environment deny any approach of West Ham for the services of the Peruvian, the player is only focused on being champion with América.”
The defensive midfielder is currently recovering from a hamstring injury he sustained in the 1-0 win over Tigres on 23 October.
He had started 13 of the 15 games up to that point, cementing his place as first-choice holding midfielder under manager Santiago Solari.
