Arsenal are among the clubs showing a strong interest in Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, who could be available for the right price this summer.

Sources with a close understanding of the situation have informed CaughtOffside that Brentford are braced for approaches for Mbeumo in the upcoming summer window.

The 25-year-old has been in superb form in the Premier League this season, notching up 16 goals and five assists in 32 league games so far.

It seems inevitable that Brentford are going to struggle to keep hold of Mbeumo, and CaughtOffside understands they could realistically accept offers in the region of £50-55m for him.

Arsenal are understood to be among Mbeumo’s main suitors, though Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham also like the Cameroon international.

CaughtOffside have also been told that Newcastle had an interest in Mbeumo, though his price tag of £50m or more would likely be too expensive for them.

Still, with Brentford seemingly resigned to the growing possibility of losing Mbeumo, it seems big clubs are on alert for his signature.

Arsenal are known to be prioritising signings in attack this summer, and Mbeumo, previously described by talkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy as a “mini-Salah” looks like he could be a great fit for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Mbeumo can play a variety of roles out wide or up front, and that could give Arsenal the added depth they need after being overly reliant on Bukayo Saka in recent times.

The Gunners are doing well in the Champions League right now, but they’ve looked in need of a bit more to sustain a stronger title challenge in the Premier League.

Mbeumo could ensure Saka doesn’t get too burnt out, whilst also giving Arteta a much-needed alternative to inconsistent duo Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
