Paris Saint-Germain currently has Achraf Hakimi as their right-back, and reports indicate that the Moroccan international is likely to extend his contract. However, in football, nothing is certain until everything is signed and sealed.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has noted that PSG and Hakimi are close to finalizing the details of the extension, with the contract length and salary almost agreed upon.

That said, PSG may be looking to bring in some competition for Hakimi. According to Fichajes, the Ligue 1 club have its eye on Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contract runs until June 2025.

Despite the rumors linking the Englishmen to the French capital or other potential top European clubs, Real Madrid aren’t worried about this file.

TEAMTalk reported on Friday that Barcelona and Bayern Munich are interested in Alexander-Arnold. Still, Real Madrid believes they have the best chance of signing him if he decides to leave Liverpool.

Real Madrid aren’t too concerned about the interest from the two European giants. According to the report, the La Liga champions believe they have the best chance of signing Alexander-Arnold if he decides to turn down Liverpool.

This means that Liverpool is the only team that could block a major transfer for Real Madrid.

Keith Wyness, Everton’s former chief, recently suggested that the allure of Real Madrid may be too strong for Alexander-Arnold to resist.

“My own gut feeling is that Trent has decided Real Madrid is a very appealing opportunity,” Wyness said. “He’ll go overseas as a young player after seeing the success that others have had with a fantastic lifestyle.

“I remember selling Thomas Gravesen to Real Madrid – he said it was 85 percent show business and 15 percent football. There’s an appeal unique to Madrid for younger players. To have that on your CV when you retire, it’s hard to give up that opportunity.”
