FLW lists the five Sheffield United players with the highest wage, which includes Gustavo Hamer and Rhian Brewster.
Sheffield United appear to be incredibly strong contenders for automatic promotion from the Championship this season.
After a Premier League campaign of disappointment and lack of competitiveness, the Blades have bounced back in the Championship and look like a force to be reckoned with.
Chris Wilder is the man at the helm, and he has done a wonderful job this season as his side continue to compete at the top end of the table.
If Sheffield United continue to play the way they have been playing, there will be no stopping them on their quest for a Premier League return.
Wilder's squad are in great shape, as they have some of the best players in the Championship across the whole pitch. As a result, they have the fourth-highest wage bill in the league, with an estimated combined payroll of £439,000 per week.
Today, Football League World delves into the estimated wage bill at Bramall Lane and picks out the five best-paid players. Harry Souttar is the highest-earner currently at the club, but he is on loan, with Sheffield United's contributions to his salary unknown, and this list focuses on permanent players only.
Players from five to two on this list actually are all estimated by Capology to earn the same amount – £30,000 a week, so in no particular order, Anel Ahmedhodzic is first up. It is no real surprise to see the Bosnian on this list, as he has been one of the Blades' most consistent players over the last couple of years.
In the 2022/23 season, he was arguably one of the best players in the Championship, let alone one of the best defenders, as he was a regular contributor to clean sheets and even popped up with six goals. Then, in the Premier League, he made 29 starts and wore the captain's armband on a number of occasions.
He has continued to be a solid defender this season and is showing everyone why he is joint-second highest earner at Bramall Lane.
Tom Davies also earns an estimated £30k a week, which is arguably not reflective of the impact he has had at Bramall Lane. The midfielder joined the club in the summer of 2023 and made just two Premier League starts as he spent most of the season on the sidelines.
It has been a similar story so far this season, as Davies missed the first few months of the season. They must keep him fit, as on his day he is a very talented central midfielder.
Vinicius Souza has been a key player for the Blades over the last two seasons, having made 36 appearances in the Premier League before continuing to be a regular in the Championship.
He is another player that is estimated to earn £30k a week, which seems fair given his importance to the team. He is a very reliable defensive midfielder who has all the qualities of a player who can help them return to the top flight.
The final player who earns an estimated £30k a week at Bramall Lane is Gustavo Hamer, which may come as no surprise. The attacking midfielder has mostly featured on the left flank for the Blades this season and has contributed to a number of goals with his creativity and eye for goal.
It is hugely important that Wilder and the board keep hold of Hamer if they are hoping for automatic promotion because he is the type of player that wins games of football, even in tough times.
The highest-paid permanent player at Sheffield United is currently Rhian Brewster. The forward earns an estimated £35k a week, which certainly does not reflect his importance in the team.
Brewster has really struggled to make his mark at Bramall Lane despite arriving with plenty of hype after his progression through the Liverpool academy.
