The upcoming January window could prove a busy period for the Red Dragons as they may seek improvements to help with their promotion bid.

Reynolds and McElhenney, the club’s co-owners, have a high profile around the club, and are regularly seen in attendance of games.

The pair have been crucial in driving the Welsh outfit’s recent success, which has involved rising from the National League to League One, while also earning a major profile through the Welcome to Wrexham docu-series.

Parkinson has opened up on how close he is with the club’s co-owners, claiming that he is in contact with them on a regular basis.

However, he has revealed that they won’t get involved in any transfer business until the very final stages of closing a deal.

"It's always a bit special when Ryan is over here because he's the joint-owner of the football club," said Parkinson, via the BBC.

"I'm in touch with Rob and Ryan through texting etc. as we go along because they like to be updated all the time.

"But it's good to have a chat, although it's a shame we couldn't get the points for him.

"We've had a chat and we've got another one about that [transfer window].

Wrexham promotion push

Wrexham are currently third in the League One table after 20 games played, sitting two points behind leaders Wycombe Wanderers.

Parkinson’s side have played a game more than some of their promotion rivals, and even two more than second place Birmingham City.

The Red Dragons are seeking a third promotion in a row, and have an 11-point cushion to seventh place Barnsley.

Up next for Wrexham is a trip to face Bristol Rovers on 21 December in a 12.30pm kick-off.

Healthy ownership relationship has been a dream for Wrexham supporters

Reynolds and McElhenney obviously bring a lot of attention to Wrexham due to their own Hollywood fame, but they have done a lot of great work for the club regardless.

They’ve invested in the team, and backed Parkinson in the transfer market without any major fuss.

The manager will be hoping to see more funds made available this January, especially as it could be a difference-maker in their bid for promotion to the Championship.

Going up at the first time of asking would be yet another huge achievement for the club, having already gained back-to-back promotions in the last two years, which wouldn’t have been possible without the involvement of their owners.
