The entourage of Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski has moved to hit back at recent claims in the media, surrounding alleged complaints on the part of the Pole.
For those who may have missed it, chatter spread in the Spanish media earlier this week that Lewandowski had made direct contact with head coach Hansi Flick.
This came with a view to issuing a complaint regarding the standard of food being served to Barcelona’s players.
It was even suggested that the veteran striker had called for a new head chef to be hired by those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou.
If the latest comments on the part of Lewandowski’s representatives are anything to go by, however, then no such request in fact ever existed.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, citing those closest to the former Bayern Munich man:
“April Fool’s Day was recently celebrated in Spain, and I see the idea that journalists are creating stories about Robert Lewandowski participating in the club’s catering as a joke. Even so, it is a joke in bad taste, which unfortunately has reached the media.
“During our time in Spain, we have learned not to take many media stories too seriously, and this is another example. The truth is that Robert Lewandowski is fully focused on preparing for the second half of the season and, together with the entire team, showing his quality on the pitch.”
