Roberto Gagliardini is tipped to replace Arturo Vidal tonight rather than Christian Eriksen, Italian media claim.
According to today’s print edition of Tuttosport, Antonio Conte will decide to give the nod to Gagliardini over Eriksen when it comes to replacing injured Arturo Vidal in midfield this evening.
The Chilean international midfielder will miss tonight’s match with a knee injury and one of Gagliardini or Eriksen will likely replace the Chilean and play alongside Marcelo Brozovic and Nicolo Barella.
Brozovic and Barella do however, have the threat of suspension hanging over their heads as one booking for either of the midfielders would see them ruled out for next weeks vital Milan derby against AC Milan.
Antonio Conte is faced with multiple headaches when choosing his midfield tonight, Gagliardini would certainly add physicality into the midfield while Eriksen would bring more of an attacking threat for Inter.
Whichever avenue Conte decides to go down he must make sure he makes the correct decision as Lazio will cause Inter a huge threat this evening with the Biancocelesti coming into the game off the back of six consecutive Serie A wins.
