Manchester City star Rodri secured for himself a place in an exclusive club, owing to his Ballon d’Or triumph this week.
Midfielder Rodri is for his part of course fresh off being named world football’s standout player.
Long considered something of an outsider in the race for the 2024 ‘Golden Ball’, the Spanish international in the end beat out the competition of Vinícius Jr, Jude Bellingham and more to clinch the prestigious prize in Paris on Monday night.
And, in the process, Rodri became just the 4th non-English player to be named Ballon d’Or whilst lining out for an English club.
The only others to have managed as much did so whilst lining out for Man City’s bitter rivals United.
Denis Law was the first back in 1964, followed by Red Devils icon George Best four years later, and five-time winner Cristiano Ronaldo most recently in 2008.
