Roma and Nicola Zalewski are making progress in their talks for the player’s new contract.

The contract renewal has not yet been signed, informs Corriere dello Sport, but the feeling is that the parties have moved closer to an agreement.

The newspaper claims it won’t be long before Roma decide to announce the decision to extend Zalewski’s expiring contract.

El Shaarawy’s recent injury will give more space to Zalewski who in recent weeks has kept quiet, working and following the instructions given by the club.

The Giallorossi management are said to have been highly impressed by the Pole’s dedication and hard work despite the difficult circumstances in the aftermath of his exclusion from the squad.

Ivan Juric is counting on him and the feeling is that Roma and Zalewski will continue together at least until the end of the season.
