Roma nearing move for Mario Hermoso, Mats Hummels still a target | OneFootball

Serie A giants Roma are making progress in a move for defender Mario Hermoso and are getting closer to signing him, with Mats Hummels still very much a target.

The Roman side have been trying to find a new centre-back in the last couple of days and Hermoso emerged as a target late in the window.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that progress has been made for Hermoso and they are now ahead of Galarasaray in the chase, having cut down the gap between what they are offering as wage and what the player demands. It has been described as a really minimal difference.

Chris Smalling could leave the club on a permanent basis, with Saudi Arabia a possibility and talks have already been held. That is why a move for Hummels is still a possibility, as the German would replace the Englishman and contact was made yesterday to explore a move.
