According to a report from Le Parisien, Mathieu Cafaro (27) is set to leave AS Saint-Étienne after he agreed on a two-and-a-half-year contract with Ligue 2 side Paris FC.
The capital side left it late with Le Parisien journalist Marc Mechenoua reporting that the club sent their official documents validating the arrival of the winger only two minutes before the transfer window “swung” shut in France.
Paris FC have been looking to strengthen their squad this winter as they make a bid for promotion to the top flight of French football. The club are currently second in the table – a spot that guarantees automatic promotion to Ligue 1.
Cafaro has experience in the second tier having helped Saint-Étienne earn promotion last season via the playoffs. Les Verts are currently in a battle to stay in the top flight and occupy the relegation playoff spot.
