Samir Nasri played for a whole host of clubs over the course of his 17-year playing career, but speaking on Canal Plus, the Frenchman revealed his favourites.

The former Les Bleus midfielder came through the ranks at Olympique de Marseille, making 166 appearances for Les Phocéens before making a €16m move to Arsenal. He then went on to make 125 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 27 goals, which then earned him a €28m move to Manchester City in 2011, for whom he made 176 appearances, the most he made for any single club.

Asked who he would support if Manchester City were to face Arsenal, Nasri said he would support the former. And if the Premier League side were to face Marseille? “Marseille, always Marseille,” said the Frenchman. The hierarchy is clear.

Nasri to manage Marseille?

Nasri has even touted the possibility of one day managing his boyhood club. “I would love to manage there (Marseille) one day. I’m not saying that in a year I am ready to do so […] but yes, managing OM is something I want to tick off in my mind,” he told Jonathan Beilin.
