Pablo Sarabia's freekick brought Manchester United back down to earth as Wolverhampton Wanderers won at Old Trafford.

Following Thursday's epic European night at Old Trafford, today's game had the feeling of a pre-season fixture in comparison. Indeed, Ruben Amorim handed a first home start to Harry Amass while Tyler Fredricson made his debut.

If a rotated Manchester United were there for the taking, Wolverhampton Wanderers showed no interest in doing so far the vast majority of the game. It was the home side who had much of the ball but lacked the cutting edge to do anything with it.

It was instead a moment of magic from substitute Pablo Sarabia that made the difference following Noussair Mazraoui conceding a foul on the edge of the area late into the second half.

Substitute Pablo Sarabia took full advantage, sending a superb freekick into the net beyond the reach of André Onana.

Wolves hardly deserved their lead – indeed, the game barely deserved a goal at all – while Mason Mount came the closest to finding an equaliser late on.
