In an interview published on Borussia Dortmund's website, Nuri Sahin has reflected on his first months as the club's head coach.

Since replacing Edin Terzic last summer, the 36-year-old has come under fire for his side's inconsistent performances, with their current sixth-place position in the Bundesliga a particular point of concern.

And in the interview, Sahin openly admits that his side's performances have been too inconsistent.

"We are definitely not where we think we should be in the Bundesliga.  It's normal that there's criticism of that - even from me. We've had too many ups and downs," said Sahin.

"It's a fact that we have a crisis in terms of results, I can't beat around the bush. And we have to solve it together.

"There have always been setbacks in our development. I expect myself and my team to be more stable. We have to get that right as soon as possible," he continued.

Sahin and Dortmund face a tough start to 2025 when they host reigning champions Bayer Leverkusen on 10 January.
